Patriots Draft Prospect Overview: Justin Fields

Justin Fields is a unique prospect. Many compare his game to the likes of Houston Texans Deshaun Watson or Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott. He is a crafty player. Big arm, accurate, fast throws, aggressive, no throw is too short or too long, minimal turnovers, dangerous out-of-pocket passer. That's all without touching on his running! So why is Justin Fields, the second-best QB in the 2021 draft class, being projected at the 8-15 range for picks? Well, he does have his downsides. If he gets blitzed it's all panic for him. He can't get his reads, he can't scramble, he can't QB right when he gets blitzed. He also has limited playing experience. He only played one and a half seasons as a starting QB. That's why QB's like Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, and Trevor Lawrence are getting projected to go before him. I have full confidence that under Belicheck and Cam, he will flourish in New England.
